jQuery countdown plugin that accounts for timezone.

Usage

Options

Option Description
date Target date, ex 07/27/2015 17:00:00
offset UTC Timezone offset
day a Day text
days an Days text
hour a Hour text
hours an Hours text
minute a Minute text
minutes an Minutes text
second a Seccond text
seconds an Seconds text
hideOnComplete hide container when countdown is 0 (Default=false)

You can also append a callback function which is called when countdown finishes.

    Is there a way to declare date by serwer, I don't want to use browser date.

    I tried to change:

    var e = new Date(),

    to:

    var e = new Date('<?php echo date("M d, Y H:i:s"); ?>'),

    And counter shows correct time but doesnt count down.

    Pass container to callback

    When you have more than one countdown on the page, and you want to hide each container that reaches 0, you currently can't, because you don't have any reference to the container inside the callback function.

    Passing the container either as a param or through scope change, would enable us to hide it once the countdown has reached 0.

    Counter is showing 1 hour difference due to Daylight saving time. as my server using Eastren time date and time of event is 10:00 am To 11:00 am EDT and I am testing this in Pak time its showing me wrong time.

    Due to the setInterval call to start the timer, there is a 1 second delay before anything happens. To make it look slicker I'd suggest doing a single call to countdown() before the setInterval line.

    If you set the time in this format as a single string "MM/dd/YYY", as the documentation say, it doesn´t work on Safari Browsers.

    My solution was set the complete String with the GTM, like this: "Mon Sep 02 2019 00:00:00 GMT-0600".
