Description
This project contains a landing page, as well as a results page, that utliize both Yelp API and Google Maps API. Utilizing these in conjunction allows the user to search local cities for the least expensive food in the area. This project was created with Javascript, jQuery, and tailwindCSS.
- Uses Yelp! Fusion API to fetch business data based on a zip code or city entered by the user
- Google Maps API uses the entered zip code or city to center location on map
- Uses latitude and longitude data to place pins on map of locations returned by Yelp! API
- Implements local storage functionality to save previous searches and allows user to reselect them
User Story
As a USER I want to find low-cost dining within an area SO THAT I can find affordable and good food WHEN I enter a zip code, or a city, and press the search button THEN I am presented with a list of low-cost restaurants in the area and a map with pins for the results WHEN I click on a map pin THEN I am presented with a pop-up, giving the name of the business and their address WHEN I click on the Recent Searches button THEN I am presented with a list of my prior searches WHEN I click on a prior search THEN a search is made using the displayed text of the button selected
