The LMS (Life Management System) is a tool for personal knowledge management and goal management based on Obsidian.md.

It consists of 4 parts.

  • Goal Management: align the projects and outcomes with the personal vision, keep an overview of the important high-level activities.
  • Journal: record the personal feeling, thinking and doing, and create self-awareness and know myself better.
  • Knowledge Management: remember important information, generate my own thought (critical thinking), and obtain the relevant knowledge to achieve life goals.
  • Periodic Review: keep parts above running, and review, reflect and improve the system.

The 4 parts interact with each other. I compare them with districts in a medieval town. This town has 6 main districts.

  • Dream Builder Castle (Goal Management)
  • Houses of My Stories (Journal)
  • Tower of Knowledge (Knowledge Management)
  • Tower of Review (Periodic Review)
  • Place of Doing (Project Implementation)
  • River of Knowledge (Outside World)

I hope, the LMS provides you an easy access to start with Obsidian.md and the purposeful usage of it, and inspired you to create your own workflow to manage goals, write journal and manage the knowledge.

    Although it is possible to enter/manipulate/remove items in a dataview table, I reckon it can be made more user friendly.

    I came along this plugin for Obsidian: Notion Like Tables (NLT) https://github.com/trey-wallis/obsidian-notion-like-tables. I did not test it out, but maybe you can check it out and hopefully be able to integrate for a more Notion like experience.
