Installation
Requirements and Recommendations:
Step 0:
- Login into Discord in the Browser
- Go to Discord Developer Portal
- Create a new application
- Click 'Bot' and add new bot
- Click 'OAuth2' and click 'URL Generator'
- Add the 'bot' and 'applications.commands' scopes
- Add Administrator Permissions
- Copy and Paste the Generated URL into your browser's adress bar
- Invite your bot to a test server
Step 1:
- Create a new folder on your computer
- Open this folder with Visual Studio Code
- Press Ctrl + ` to open a new terminal
Step 2:
- Paste the following into the terminal and Press Enter
git clone https://github.com/AndrewVonStieglitz/Discord.JTS.git .
Step 3:
- Rename .envexample to .env
- Click your app in Discord Developer Portal
- Copy and paste your application ID to the CLIENT_ID in the '.env' file
- Click 'Bot' and copy your token and paste it to DISCORD_TOKEN in the '.env' file
- Copy your server id by right clicking the server name and copying ID and paste it to GUILD_ID in the '.env' file
Step 4:
- Go back to the terminal and type the following and Press Enter for each command:
npm install
npm build
npm commands
npm runbot
Step 5:
- Your bot should be running!
- Type /echo message and the bot should respond with that message!
