Important Info

  • Do not remove the credits! (Otherwise as I find out you will die) <3
  • Amazon enforces a per-user limit of 5 notifications in a 5 minute period. If you try to send more than 5 notifications within a 5 minute period, the api ignores your sixth request and returns a HTTP 429 error.
  • The way Alexa notifications work is that you hear a chime sound and the Echo's light ring illuminates to let you know you have pending notifications. When you hear the tone or see the light, say "Alexa, what are my notifications" to hear your notifications.

How to get the "Notify Me" Token

(Notify Me Skill is only available in the regions that allow English-speaking skills, but you can bypass that changing your amazon account region)

  • To get started, just enable the skill from the Alexa app or from the Amazon website, giving it permission to send notifications to your Alexa and linking it to your Amazon account so they can send a unique access code to the email address associated with that account. Next, just say, "Alexa, open Notify Me" and the skill will introduce itself and send your access code via email.

  • If it seems to be taking too long to receive the access code, please check your SPAM filter. The email will come from from [email protected]. Remember: launching the skill ("Alexa, open Notify Me" or "Alexa, launch the Notify Me skill") is what triggers the email with the access code.

  • Then, just copy the code and paste in the settings.json file.
