Adds various types of lighting sources to the player in Mindustry.

Flashlight

  • The default light source of the mod.
  • Instead of making light all around, it makes light only in the direction of the player.
  • Rays can be obstructed by solid walls, if the player isn't flying or boosting.
  • Can show enemies.
  • Has settings, although they're limited (Made by @SMOLKEYS).

Lantern

  • Arguably known as the method of lighting the vanilla units used, but it's still similar to this.
  • Makes light in every direction.
  • Light cannot be obstructed.
  • Also shows the enemies.
  • Radius' still limited.

    Changes

    • Flying and boosting units have their flashlight not affected by ground structures, it's now lighting up in the air.
    • Added an experimental flashlight fog rendering. Shows opponent units that are in front of the flashlight, if there's ambient lighting. This may not work on servers, sadly. Fact: Hidden units aren't shown on the minimap.
    • Fixed the untouchable info button below the toggle table, disappears when there is the button on the right side of the screen.
    • Fixed flashlights being shined on turrets, but you can still show enemies (untested).

    The very first public release of the mod.

    Features that this mod adds

    • A flashlight that shines on the player's front. It's only usable on maps with the lighting rule. Projects a ray onto a wall if that's the case.
    • A Table to toggle the light on the right side of the screen.
    • A settings menu for the mod. Modifies the flashlight's Field of View and how far the light should be. Higher values mean more lag. Contributed by @SMOLKEYS.
    • Since this mod is only visual, not adding any content, it's perfectly fine to play this client-side mod on multiplayer.
