⏩ Fast Floward

Welcome to Fast Floward! We are excited to have you here. This repository is where you will find all content, resources, and links for the Fast Floward bootcamp.

  • Before you do anything, please make sure you are in the Decentology Discord. This is where all things Fast Floward will be happening. If you are participating in the bootcamp, you should have been assigned the "Fast Floward" role within Discord. This will make your name bright green. If you have not been assigned this role, please DM Chase Chapman#8019.

📚 Where to Find Content

  • Content will be shared every day at 10am Pacific Time. All content will be shared in this repository. We will send a message in the # ⏩ -fast-floward Discord channel every day at 10am Pacific Time once content is posted.

  • Content will be paired with Quests to help you put your knowledge to the test. You can think of these like homework — but way more fun and a lot more creative.

  • We will hold Office Hours several times throughout the week to help you work through the quests.

  • You can expect about 1.5 to 2 hours worth of videos each week (note that Week 1 will likely be a bit more) and about 2 to 2.5 hours to spend on the quests throughout the week (this is a minimum, but since they are creative in nature, you can certainly spend more time if you’d like).

  • We highly encourage you to complete all quests. If you do, we have a special surprise for you at the end of the bootcamp! 😉

☕️ Office Hours

We will be hosting Office Hours to help you work through the Quests. This is a time to ask questions and get past anything that is blocking you from completing a Quest.

🗓 When: Please see this calendar for Office Hours times. That this calendar will be updated weekly.

📍 Where: Office Hours will be held in the #office-hours voice channel in Discord (see image below).

⚡️ Submit Quests

Once you have completed a Quest, please submit your Github repository link by filling out this form.

Once you have submitted a Quest, you should see your submission in the # ✨ -quest-submissions channel in Discord. Feel free to look at other participants' Quest submissions – sharing submissions allows everyone in the Fast Floward program to learn from one another!

If you make an effort to complete all Quests, you will recieve a special surprise at the end of the bootcamp.

    Context

    Now that the bootcamp has finished, it may be helpful to add a folder under each day that included the solutions to the corresponding quests for that day. Quest solutions have already been presented in the office hours for each day, but they do not exist in a clear format under the directories for each day.

    Changes to be Made

    • [ ] Each week has a folder. Within that folder, there are days. For each day, add a folder called quest-solutions.
    • [ ] Within each of the quest-solutions folders, add the solutions that were presented in office hours.
      • [ ] Week 3 (days 1-3)

    Estimated Time

    The example solution can be as complex or as simple as you'd like (the main quest lies in day 3 and requires knowledge of both Cadence & DappStarter). If you have done previous weeks quests, this could take under an hour or a few.

    The time depends on your experience with DappStarter. Assuming you will be learning DappStarter and doing the quest solutions yourself, this will take a couple hours.

    If you have knowledge of Cadence already, this could take 1-2 hours. If you have no knowledge of Cadence and will be learning from the content, this could take much longer.

    It would be helpful to add captions for all of the videos that exist within each of the READMEs. A folder could potentially be added called "video-captions" that allow people to read in text format instead of having to listen to the video.

    Fix Typos

    There are a ton of READMEs that exist within the fast-floward-1 repository. There is also a lot of writing in those READMEs.

    This issue is centered around making sure the READMEs don't have any grammatical errors that would prevent people from understanding the content.
