This repository contains the yearbook for GitHub Graduation 2022. By issuing a pull request to this repository, you can request to be added to the GitHub Class of 2022.

The first 7,500 pull request successfully merged into the repository by May 27 will receive custom trading card, stickers, and letter in the mail.

If you don't feel comfortable with displaying your full name, you can include a short name or nickname instead.

Who can apply 📝

We invite any student who has graduated, or plans to graduate, in 2022 to apply to the yearbook. This includes bootcamps, code camps, high school graduates, Master's graduates, Ph. D. Graduates, etc.

The eligibility criteria are -

You have been verified as a student with the GitHub Student Developer Pack. Not yet a part of the Pack? Apply here.
You have not participated in a past GitHub Graduation event.
You identify as a graduate in the year 2022.

How to join the Class of 2022

Here are two steps to join graduation and receive your custom trading card and stickers in the mail.

Fill out the shipping form ⚠️ the form needs to be done before creating your Pull Request (PR) and does not guarantee participation in the event. Your PR must successfully merge into the repository and only the first 7,500 merged PRs will receive cards in the mail.
Submit a pull request with your profile information to join the Yearbook and be highlighted in the graduation event.

1. Fill out the shipping form.

Information submitted to the swag shipment form is only used to ship trading cards for graduation. Submitting the form does not guarantee you will receive anything in the mail. Only the first 7,500 graduates to merge their Pull Request to the GitHub Yearbook will receive a shipment.

2. Add yourself to Yearbook 🏫

Replace <YOUR-USERNAME> with your GitHub username in this guide. Please note that the <YOUR-USERNAME> here is Case Sensitive. For Example, if your username is MonaTheOctocat, using anything other than it like monatheoctocat or monaTheoctocat will throw an error while submitting the Pull Request, make sure you're using the exact same case as your username in both the folder name and file name.

First, create the folder _data/YOUR-USERNAME/

Fork this repository, create a new folder inside the _data folder, and name it with your username. It should look something like this _data/<YOUR-USERNAME>/. Ex.

_data/MonaTheOctocat/

Second, add your profile information

Create a markdown file in your folder following the convention <YOUR-USERNAME>.md. Ex.

_data/MonaTheOctocat/MonaTheOctocat.md

Copy the next template into your file, delete the boilerplate data and fill the information with yours.

Hi everyone -- there's been a mistake with trading cards shipped within the United States. If you are in the US, you likely received the wrong card.

Our team is reprinting cards and getting them in the mail as soon as possible. You do not need to send the card you received anywhere.

Bot saying I'm not in the Student Developer Pack when I am

The bot says that it's "not seeing a valid student developer pack approval", yet I am approved and I can confirm this when I go to the site How can I fix this?

The problem of the bot stating that you have previously graduated remains.

I tried again and again for 7 times and still is not working. I thought the open pull request of the 2021 was conflicting with it. So I closed it and tried again. Still it is not working :-(

Unable to add to GitHubGraduation-2022

My PR closed without merging with the response that I graduated the previous year but I'm graduating this year only.

Swags not delivered and no updates by mail

Hello,

My PR : #4147 The shipment was to France so maybe it will take a few month and is normal ? I had no update by email or anything so far so i don't know if it's normal or not and who i need to contact for this if it isn't.

I cannot find my name in the yearbook of GitHub Graduation 2022

Hello, I had submitted my pull request and it was even merged the next day. Also I was one among 7500 participants to get the PR merged. But I am unable to find my name in the yearbook. Please address this issue. Regards

Pull request not merged yet

I was going through the pull request that are being merged and after pull request #6475 directly pull request #6582 has been merged. My pull request #6517 has the tag ready to merge and satisfies all the criteria has not been merged yet. Github team can you please look into this? thank you

Add Year Book Link to README

Hey there, It is observed that GitHubGraduation-2022 does not have a link attached to it's year book 🤔 whereas Previous Graduations have a link to respective Year Book. Kindly update README with link for better reference, if possible 🐱‍🏍🐱‍💻

Changed GitHub username

Hi I recently changed my GitHub username from nakamin to antonky, this seems to be causing some issues with the yearbook site since my profile will 404 now. Is it too late already to get this updated? Also for the cards, have they already been printed, will the username change cause issues with my card too?
